What Are Rage Symptoms?
Volatile anger is characterized by recurring outbreaks of angry behavior which may be verbally abusive or aggressive and violent. Examples of this type of behavior include road rage, throwing or breaking objects and domestic abuse. These outbursts are completely out of proportion to the circumstances, and negatively affect relationships as well as school and work situations. Nearly eight percent of adolescents demonstrate anger issues that meet the criteria for a lifetime diagnosis of intermittent explosive disorder.
